We shot Sarah & Ben’s wedding back in June in front of the elephant enclosure at Perth Zoo. It’s a cool spot to tie the knot and during the ceremony, as the bride & groom, you’ll have elephants blasting paint out of their trunks onto a couple of blank boards to create some nice art for you to take home.
A month or two after the wedding Sarah got in touch saying she wanted to do a ‘Trash the Dress’ shoot. We’d never done one of these before so I was like “Sure, let’s do it!”. Little did I know Sarah had something totally next level in mind.
As it turns out the elephant art had got some ideas stirring in Sarah’s mind. Turns out Sarah had been in touch with Perth Zoo to see if the elephants could replicate their technique on her dress.
And so it goes, we did a Trash the Dress shoot at Perth Zoo with Sarah, her dress, two large elephants and paint. Yeah, for real! To have the opportunity to be inside the enclosure with these awesome animals is something I certainly won’t forget anytime soon. So far as Trash the Dress shoots go I definitely think our first one will be hard to beat!
Massive thanks to the awesome staff at Perth Zoo for making this happen and of course Thank You to Sarah for having us onboard to shoot such an awesome idea, definitely one of the highlights of my photography career to date!
